Jakson Vroman&Jarod Stevenson
This year Aksavayu Girona is one of the best teams in the league ACB. One of the faacts of this position are the two new players: Jakson Vroman and Jarod Stevenson. In this article it is an interview to this two player.
Jakson Vroman say that is the second year that he is in spain. They also play in New Orleans Hornets, in the NBA. He are very happy to stay here. Jardo Stevanson are very happy too. He never play in the ACB. He don't think in levae to the NBA.

The Others
1. The title:
The title refers to Grace family, because her family is a ghost-family that lives in a house. In this place is living another family too and Grace thinks this other family are “the others” but, really, is her family “the Others”.
2. The setting:
There are many typical thriller and horror films elements. For example, the house that it’s very old and big. The garden is also very big and there are typical trees without any leaf (the tree that is in the photo), stone tombs in the floor and the weather, it’s always foggy. One original element is the children health condition, they have a strange illness so that, for this reason, they always have to stay in dark rooms; this darkness gives a very mysterious atmosphere to the film. The girl of the housekeepers, Lydia, that seems mute, and the nurse, that seems a witch, are also an interesting element. The characters voices are low and I think they show us a mysterious atmosphere. Finally, the last and more important element to inspire horror to the public is the music like in all other horror films.
3. The time:
I think that “the Others” is inspired, more or less, between the XVIIIth or XIXth century. I think so because in the house there is no electricity, the characters don’t drive cars, they always go on foot and never appear any modern ages elements.
4. The cast:
- Grace: she always feels alone, and her main problems are her children illness and the long wait of her husband. Later, when she hear voices starts to feel scary, and seems to the spectator that she is becoming mad; but when she discovers that she and her family are dead, she also discover that she was mad when she was alive and that she had killed her children. She educates her children with the cristian religion.
- Anne and Nicolas: their health condition is that they suffer a terrible pain, they can’t stay under the sun light because they have a skin illness. They always have to stay inside their house, with the windows closed, and the lights turned off. They only can have the light of the candle.
- The housekeepers: their role in the story is showing us that Grace family are the others, and that they are dead.
- Alejandro Amenábar: I know: “Abre los ojos” and “ Mar adentro”. He was 29 years when he directed the film. This film won 8 Goyas.

Yes, I think that “the Others” has a lot of gothic films elements like the time of the film, or the atmosphere with tombs, fog, voices and mystery in general. The principal characters are spirits, a very typical element. I think that it can be a good example of gothic film.

I must tell you my name because you have never been my teacher and you don’t know me!
I’m Eudald Espluga, and I’m seventeen years old. I live in St.Miquel de Fluvià but I am always travelling to Castelló d'Empuries because my friends live there.
I'm studying second of “ batxillerat humanistic” and my favourite subject is philosophy because I think it’s different to the rest subjects. When I finish this course I would like to go to the university in Barcelona, I wish to study INEF or philosophy. This year seems the most difficult course, because it’s very short and we will have to pass “the selctivitat”. I’m afraid about this exam, because it’s very important to be able to choose the carreer that I want to do. Also, at the same time, we are doing the “treball de recerca”, exams, homework, writings, etc..
And, about me, I can say that I like basketball, I play basketball with Akasvayu Figueres. I also like other sports as handbol, football, etc.. At weekends I usually go to play basketball matches or I go to the cinema or I go out with my friends and at night I usually go to a disco in St. Pere Pescador with my friends. Sometimes we go to Millenium, that it’s another disco in Girona, but there I go very few times because it’s very expensive. Also, we usually go to concerts and to country parties. Last summer I worked as lifeguard in camping Castell Mar in Empuriabrava, but I only worked there July. My best friends, Gerard and Ferran, were working in the beach, in front of my camping, they are lifeguards too. A part of working, many times we have gone out at night, we have gone to many concerts of my favourite groups: Marea, Betagarri, Miau miau, 40 grados, Dekrèpits, , etc... and we have gone to many discos as Fata, Millenium,Passarel·la, etc...
Actually I’m very happy because in two weeks we go to Frankfurt! It can be a very beautiful travel!

Computers have made the world a better place
In our days the technology is one of most important elements of the society. Many things that we do depend on this. The computers are on of these elements, that all the people have one in their house. We use the computers to play games, work, do the homework, surf Internet. Chatting… But the question is if they have made the world a better place.
First of all, I think that the computers are a good element in our lives, because they can help us with a lot of things like searching information, sends emails… They also permit to work better, do the homework, write… And play and have a funny time too.
Although when the people, usually the children, spend with the computers a lot of time, they can be dangerous because this can give obesity. Some computers games are addictive and a lot of people spend approximately twelve hours a day with the computers.
In conclusions, I think that if the computers have made the world a better place, depends on the use that we do of the computers.
